Review: Awarded 5 Twists of a possible 5 – Highly recommended read

Eureka Point by Betty Ann Harris begins with an ordinary woman, Katie Montgomery, going about an ordinary day in her life. Then a note from her husband and a cancelled vacation turn into her worst nightmare. The man she thought she knew is involved with a drug cartel and has been deceiving her for years. Then he disappears.

Ms. Harris skillfully leads us through the maze of Katie learning the truth with perceptive descriptions and emotion. FBI Agents arrive at her door and we feel for Katie as her life changes forever and she has to deal with the fallout. Elizabeth Harrison is born.

Enter Special Agent Tom Owens. Contact, protector and only friend, Tom has some old baggage, too. Plus, he finds his new charge very attractive. A car accident and lots of action from that point on kept me turning the pages to the very end in this one.

With chapters added from each character’s personal perspective, I was drawn deeply into this tale of deceit, suspense, and survival where romance flourishes amid the trials. I got to know Lizzie and Tom and enjoyed the special scenes from their point of view.

Ms. Harris has a unique style of blending dialog, characterizations, and an excellent plot to make a can’t-put-down read. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 twists for fun, suspense, and a modern-day knight to the rescue.
